Renville-Sibley’s 88th Annual Meeting was held on Thursday, March 26th at Redwood Area Community Center in Redwood Falls. The guest speaker was Bob Sahr, East River’s CEO and General Manager. Bob provided a thorough and informational update on East River Electric to those in attendance. Vicky Firle, the Secretary/Treasurer of the Board, reviewed the results of the 2025 Financial Audit. CEO DeeAnne Norris expressed her gratitude to all employees and their dedication to commitment to safety and serving our members. She also discussed the upcoming rate increase that will take effect in 2026.

Information on the district elections was presented by Director Gary Peterson.

Director Wayland Zaske and Director Helen Ruebel presented the scholarship awards selected by the committee. They were as follows:

$2,500 Basin Electric – Kalleigh Wertish
$1,500 Renville-Sibley sponsored scholarship – Carson Lee

The Scholarship Committee also elected to select three additional $1,000 scholarships from the remaining applicants funded by unclaimed capital credits that are over seven years old. They were as follows:

Addelyn Malvin
Emmi Braem
Mackton Bratsch

The Jay A. York Scholarship name nominated: Mackton Bratsch

Directors elected to serve a 3-year term were as follows:

District 1 – Vicky Firle
District 2 – Jeff Boersma
District 3 – Roger Manthei

Miss Becky’s Catering prepared and served a delicious meal following the meeting and we concluded the evening with the remaining prizes given out to those in attendance.
