Renville-Sibley’s 87th Annual Meeting was held on Thursday, March 27th at Redwood Area Community Center in Redwood Falls. The guest speaker was Chris Studer, East River’s Chief Member & Public Relations Officer. Chris presented a safety presentation to those in attendance. Wayland Zaske, the Secretary/Treasurer of the Board, reviewed the results of the 2024 Financial Audit. CEO DeeAnne Norris expressed her gratitude to all employees and their dedication to commitment to safety and serving our members. She also discussed the changes to the Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws that were brought before the membership and ensured how they would benefit the Cooperative.
Information on the district elections was presented by Director Jeff Boersma.
Director Whitey Hinderman and Director Vicky Firle presented the scholarship awards selected by the committee. They were as follows:
$1,000 Basin Electric – Abigail Willegal
$1,000 Renville-Sibley sponsored scholarship – Brenna Wordes
The Scholarship Committee also elected to select five additional $1,000 scholarships from the remaining applicants funded by unclaimed capital credits that are over seven years old. They were as follows:

Heidi Beckendorf
Riley Broberg
Ryan Schrupp
William Ahrens
Jay A. York Scholarship name nominated & winner: Brenna Wordes
Directors elected to serve a 3-year term were as follows:
District 1 – Whitey Hinderman
District 2 – Wayland Zaske
District 3 – Gary Eekhoff
The recommended changes to the Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws were also passed by the membership.
Miss Becky’s Catering prepared and served the meal following the meeting.
